Staying healthy & fit in your 50s & 60s can be a real struggle due to family & work commitment. The biggest excuse I hear on a regular basis is time. That is why I designed this personalised fitness program to help you stay active, healthy with minimal time and maximum results. Time is always an issue as we get older or maybe we make it an issue by using it as an excuse to hide away from the real fact. Yes it is true that most of our society work long hours and by the time you get home your too tired and you want to spend some quality time with your family. And that is very fair point but on the other hand your health is suffering, your lacking in energy and your unable to fuction properly like you used to when you were in your 30s. I am a strong believer that if your health & wellbeing is important to you, then you can make time for your everyday life.
It is a well known fact that moderate exercising, and a healthy balanced diet can help cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, diabetes and other well known diseases. Did you know that in Ireland the top 3 killer diseases are 1.Coronary heart diseases, 2. Heart attack, 3. Lung cancer. In the past couple of years the Irish health board has documented how important fitness has a positive effect on your mental health & wellbeing. As you get older your metabilsm slows down, your hormones drops and this basically means a gradual reduction of lean muscle. Lean Muscles that you need to function effectively on your every day task. If your a man or woman in your 50s and you feel that your body is declining your losing lean muscle mass and gaining body fat rapidly, in men a massive part of your body will mainly settle in your midsection belly area and your chest. This is called visceral fat or commonly know as fat that is stored deep underneath your skin. This fat is dangerous because it actually wraps around your major organs such as your pancreas, kidneys and your liver that unfortunately leads to diseases heart attacks and diabetes type 2 or even in some cases type 1. The problem is that your probably living the same lifestyle as you did in your 20s and 30s eating & drinking excessively. As you continue to age you have to consider your health and wellbeing as being pivotal to your every day life. It needs to be your primary concern so that you can prevent any future health problems. Taking action and care of your body will be your key to success.
